Walk in Love.....

2 Corinthians 5:17 ~"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! ~"

Matthew 7:21-27 ~"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"~

Matthew 12:33-35 ~"Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him~".

Hey *Y’all! I pray many blessings on everyone reading this today. Today’s topic is something that I feel is a big problem in God’s community. Recently, I went into an office to take care of some business and when I arrived there, there were two women in the office sitting at their desks, one of the ladies had several Bible based items skewed all over her cubicle, and she was loudly blasting Gospel music. The other lady didn’t have anything on her desk but it was neat and orderly as she quietly worked. As I sat there the phone rang and the other lady answered and then asked ‘Gospel lady’ if she could please turn her music down a little so she could hear the phone call. The ‘Gospel lady’ immediately got loud and said, “I am not turning the Lord’s music down!!! This place needs to hear the Lord! and I’m not going to let the devil tell me to turn my music down!! etc….etc …….. The lady on the phone just shook her head in frustration and tried to continue her phone conversation.

As I sat there observing the situation, I began to think about all of the people who call themselves Children of God, but their actions expose them as a child of the enemy. Instead of using their swords (Word) on the enemy they use it to carelessly slice up others; for instance, I have seen several instances where the ‘Christian’ would belittle, stomp, and fuss by using scriptures in a retaliatory way to get their point across… I have heard several angrily say “Favor isn’t fair! Or I am blessed and highly favored!!!” Okay. I’m not disputing any of those comments, because there isn’t anything wrong about knowing our place in the kingdom and knowing that we are powerful children of the most high, BUT you do not have to belittle and talk down to others. When you act like this you are siding with the devil and his kingdom.

Jesus didn’t walk around beating people over the head with his beliefs; he drew people with his kindness and love. This is one of the main reasons why the world looks at church people as being so hypocritical. I don’t know about *y’all, but I look at a person’s fruit…..if you claim you are saved and are living for Jesus, etc., then your fruit should reflect this. There should be a joy and peace about you that makes people want to be around you ,because they see God’ s light shining in you.

You have to understand that the world is watching us and waiting on us to slip up. Don’t give the enemy ammunition! When you became saved you should have become a new creature, putting aside old ways and striving to be like him in every way. For those of you battling bad attitudes, stubbornness, etc, Please stop the madness!!! and let Jesus Christ truly come into your heart and ask him to change you for the better in all things. Let’s show the world how to correctly walk in love.

Be Blessed *Y’all!

A Growing Problem

Envy – ~“A feeling of discontent or covetousness with regard to another's advantages, success, possessions, etc.”~

1 Corinthians 13:4:4 ~"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”~

James 3:16 ~"For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.”~

Hey *Y’all! I hope everyone is enjoying their 2010 Summer. Today’s topic is something that many of us have dealt with in some form or another - Envy, but the difference is that some of us know how to give those feelings to God, repent, and move on, but sadly many of us give in to this awful destructive spirit. I believe envy is truly the root of all evil; for example, in the Bible Cain killed his brother Able because he was jealous, Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery because of their envy of him, Saul tried to kill David because of his hatred and envy……… Do you see a pattern?

If envy is not properly dealt with at its root, it will grow into a nasty destructive vine that will consume everything it touches. I realize that we all sin and fall short of God’s glory, but if you are someone who is constantly comparing yourself to others and /or always trying to outdo someone else, then you may have an envy problem. You need to look at yourself and truly give it to God and let him deliver you. If you are constantly envious of others, you will not have peace in your life.

When you have a true relationship with Jesus Christ there is no room for envy because in order to know him you have to know love and love and envy cannot coincide. If you are envious you are basically saying you aren’t happy with what God has blessed you with. Please don’t misunderstand me, there isn’t anything wrong with being motivated to achieve certain goals that someone else has achieved, because we are supposed to use each other’s testimonies as motivation to advance God’s kingdom. But if you are constantly consumed by trying to outdo others, then you may have a deeper problem. Everyone’s walk is different and you don’t know what someone has truly gone through to get them where they are.

On this walk with Christ I have learned to be content with what he has blessed me with. I truly feel that what is for me -is FOR ME! I’m thankful for all my blessings in life because I remember where he brought me from. I know he is a merciful God! So instead of worrying about why you don’t have what someone else has, you should lift your hands up in praise and shout “Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus for blessing me! I am truly content with my portion!"

Be Blessed *Y’all.
