"You Plant 'Em…., "

Matthew 13:3-8~"Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."~

Matthew 10:14-15 ~"If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. ~"

How many of *y’all are frustrated with ministering to some people who just refuse to accept Jesus? I mean you literally want to pull out your hair and rock a bald head if the people would just accept God’s love. One thing that was revealed to me was that everyone is not going to be receptive to the Word. In fact some people may even resent you for having the nerve to “preach” to them. But you know what? you can’t get offended because some people have been hurt and beat down by the traumatics of life that they are not ready to listen to the Word yet. This does not mean that you should stay around and keep getting beat up by them, in fact Matthew 10:14-15 says to move on to someone who will be receptive to the message. You also need to realize that it takes some people time, just think about it- How long did it take you to receive God’s love? I’m sure it wasn’t an overnight success story, (there are probably a few people rocking bald heads because of you). Although sad, but unfortunately true some people will never accept the message, but the main thing that you can be assured of is that God’s Word does not return void. Everyone has a choice whether or not to accept or reject Jesus, by giving a non-believer the message, it is like planting a seed, and even though the ground may be hard, dry, and rocky in many places you should just keep on moving and cover as much ground as you can, plant as many seeds as you can, and you will eventually reap a harvest. Some harvests may be small or even void, and some may be plentiful, but whatever the outcome you should never give up and stop planting the seeds of God’s love.

Love Them Anyway

~Luke 6:32-36 ~ 32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. 35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Hello *y’all, thank you for continuing to read this blog. It is truly a way for me to use one of the gifts that God has given me to help get his message out to the world. I had to really meditate on the scripture (Luke 6:32-36) above because it is a difficult one to swallow. We all know that we should love at all times, but it is hard to love someone who doesn’t love you back. It is probably one of the most difficult tasks on this earth. Recently, I came under attack by someone I showed unconditional love to, this person, lied, cheated, and said some ugly things about me and my family when all I did was show love. Of course this hurt my feelings and a part of me wanted to lash out at this person, but I refrained and listened to Jesus. He told me to look at the scripture above. Isn't it a powerful scripture? This is one that I am striving to do well, because it is too easy to write someone off who hurts you or keeps hurting you. I’m not saying that you should have daily dealings with people who constantly hurt you, because I know it's hard to feed someone with a long handled spoon when they have bitten both your arms off. All I am saying is love them anyway and pray for them because they are living in darkness and can’t see themselves. Don’t hold anger or hatred towards them because this stifles your relationship with God. Please don’t block your blessings. Continue to love your neighbors and ask the Lord how you can be a blessing to someone daily. Don't give up your love walk. Remember to focus on building your treasures in heaven and not down here in this temporary world.

You Are What You Eat!

Deuteronomy 8:33~ "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD."~

Galatians 5:22-23 ~ "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."~

How many of *y’all have heard the saying “You are what you eat?” Of course we all need to eat physical food to live, but what about feeding your spirit man? Do you watch what you eat? Do you scoff down hatred, anger, and malice for breakfast? Do you gorge yourself on unforgiveness, deceit, and gossip for lunch? Do you devour pride, arrogance, and selfishness for dinner? Do you snack on lies? If you can say yes to any of these then you have been feeding your spirit with rotten fruit. If you eat rotten fruit then you will produce rotten fruit, but if you nourish your spirit with the proper nutrients (The Word) it will grow, and you will produce good fruit for others to eat. We all need to include good fruit in our daily diets, because being a once a week good fruit eater, will still deprive your spirit. You have to be consistent to stay healthy, so make sure you eat quality foods at all times so that you will be healthy enough to stand up to the enemy’s attacks, because he likes to attack weak malnourished spirits the most. So to have a mega-strong spirit make sure you eat love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. For some it make take time to eat all of these in one sitting, but as with anything you have to build your tolerance level up so that you don’t overwhelm and burn out your spirit. After awhile of eating these fruits it will be like second nature to you, and you will be strong enough to feed others.

Basic Needs

1 John 3:17 ~ “But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?”~

Have you ever been sitting in a meeting and couldn’t focus because you were hungry or in pain? I mean you couldn’t focus on the message or the messenger, because you were preoccupied with your short-term suffering. This made me think about how some people recruit others for the Kingdom. Some recruiters only focus on getting numbers for the Kingdom, but never take the time to really look at their recruits. Have you ever seen anyone trying to recruit someone for God’s Kingdom, but the person that they were trying to recruit was hungry, homeless, or dirty? When in reality the suffering person only wanted to get something in their belly, get a hot shower, or get some sort of shelter to reside in. Please don’t misunderstand me, there isn’t anything wrong with trying to recruit for the Kingdom, but we should first focus on meeting their basic needs so that they can then focus on Jesus’ message. In fact if you help meet their basic needs, they will probably be more prone to listen to your message about Jesus and how he changed your life. They may be more apt to join the Kingdom because they see that you are living for him because you helped alleviate their short-term sufferings. You will be more powerful to the Kingdom if you meet their basic needs before you try and help heal their spirits. Spiritual healing has several processes that begin with showing love and compassion to your brothers and sisters. No one ever said that the recruiter's job was easy, but won't it be worthwhile it to see all the people that you recruited in heaven one day?

Be a Peace Seeker

~2 Corinthians 13:1~1 “Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.”

~Galatians 5:22-23 ~“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

~Philippians 4:6-7~ “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

~Colossians 3:14-15~ “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”

How many of *y’all know that when you worry, etc. that you give rights to the enemy to steal your joy? When you worry alot you become a weakling in God's Kingdom. When we pray to Jesus to take care of something we should pray about it and leave it with him. He knows our wants and needs before we even ask. One thing I that I’ve learned in this spiritual walk is that when we are happy and joyful, we are more powerful against the enemy’s attacks because he hates it. He wants us to be miserable, upset, and depressed, but more than anything else, he wants us to spread misery to others. Whenever you feel depressing, anxious thoughts or feelings swelling up in your belly, you need to stifle them with the Word of God. I don’t know about *y’all, but I've began to recognize when worry is about to rear its ugly head into my life, I begin to feel anxious, nervous, and emotional. But I am learning to rebuke those feelings and thoughts and think about Jesus, and the peace that he wants each of us to have. Please realize that this is not an overnight process, it will take some time, but if you stay focused on Jesus and his Word you will experience the everlasting peace that he promised us.

Heavenly Treasures

Matthew 6:19-21~"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.~"

How many of *y’all know that when you bless others that you also bless yourself and your family? I don’t know about *y’all but I feel great when I am able to help someone. I mean I literally feel sick with love! God wants us to always help others by sowing love. I think he smiles at us every time we help someone. When I talk about giving I’m not just talking about material possessions. You can say a word of encouragement to someone, give someone a compliment, or even smile at them. There are many different ways to sow love –just pick one. You would be surprised at how a simple act of kindness could mean the world to someone who is hurting. Unfortunately, there are many selfish people who only focus on storing man-made treasures, which they can’t take with them. Please don’t misunderstand me; I’m not saying that we are not supposed to have anything while we are here on earth; it’s just that this should not be our primary focus. We are supposed to help others especially when we see a brother or sister in need. Think about those times when you needed something and someone reached out a hand to you. It probably made you feel good to know that someone took the time to care for you. This year let’s make a vow to keep the giving/love cycle going so that we can reap our heavenly treasures.

"What did you say?"

~1 Corinthians 14:12-25~

"So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me. So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church. For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind. If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying? You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified. I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults. In the Law it is written: "Through men of strange tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me," says the Lord. Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers. So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind? But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

The topic that I chose today is one that I used to have so many questions on, because I have seen it done in many different ways in many churches. So I read the Word, meditated, and prayed on it. It is about one of the gifts of the spirit -speaking in tongues. I have gone to several churches in the past where it seemed like the whole congregation was speaking in tongues, and sometimes it was a little chaotic. I’ve listened to many ideas from several people about this gift. Each time I had to pray on the situation to make sure I wasn’t misinterpreting the situation or being emotionally led. The Bible clearly states that speaking in tongues is definitely a fruit of the spirit for some people. This may not be your gift, so please don’t feel inadequate if it is not. There are many fruits of the spirit that we each receive from God. These gifts are meant for us to uplift his Kingdom. The Word states very clearly that those who speak in tongues should pray that they interpret what they are saying or that there should be someone there who can interpret what is being said. If there is no interpretation, how will anyone know what is being said? If there is no interpretation, there is no revelation, and the words spoken only edify the person speaking. For example, when I lived overseas, I felt totally lost when someone was speaking another language that I didn’t understand. I felt better once I got an interpreter to reveal to me what was being said around me. Speaking in tongues that is not interpreted edifies the person speaking, and it does not edify the church.
Also one other thing that I have also learned from prior experience is to not let anyone speak in an unknown tongue over you, especially if there is no interpretation. You don’t know what that person said knowingly or unknowingly over your life. We have to test the spirit to make sure that it is truly God speaking to us. Please be careful in this spiritual walk, because we are living in the end times and the enemy is playing for keeps. He is counting on us not reading the Word for ourselves. We can’t be naive and misinterpret the Word and mislead others. If you don’t understand something pray for revelation, and understanding. Jesus will answer your prayers because he wants us to know and understand his word.
