Grow Stronger!

1 Peter 2:2 ~ “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”~
Ephesians 4:14~ “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.”~
Luke 10:19~”I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”~

Many of *y’all who have been reading this blog can probably see how I have grown over the years from a babe in Christ to now eating solid meat. In the beginning you can see where I was more emotionally led to write than spiritually. My flesh would like to go and change some of the old blogs to reflect who I am today, but the Holy Spirit told me to leave it alone. The reason why is because we all have growing stages we must go through. This is true for Christians too. No one comes to God and becomes a full-fledged adult Christian overnight, we all have to drink our milk, learn to crawl, take steps, stumble, walk, and then start running. We have to accomplish each one of these steps in order to make progress. But just like with anything else we do in life, we have to build our endurance at each stage before we can proceed to the next level. I don’t know about *y’all but I want to grow up! I want to be a stronger soldier for God’s Kingdom! I want to go to battle to prove my loyalty to my Father! Each time the enemy comes at me with an attack I will stomp on his head and call him a liar! Aren’t you tired of weak Christians who are afraid to tell you where they stand in order to appease the world? Meanwhile the enemy is loudly stomping around proclaiming who he is? Jesus gave us power on this earth to move mountains, so why are many of y’all still moving pebbles? Grow up my fellow brothers and sisters so we can be more of a threat to the dark kingdom, let’s make the devil run from us, because he only has power if you give it to him. I don’t know about *y’all, but I’m not giving up my power. I love Jesus too much for that to happen.

Look At Yourself -First!

Matthew 7:3-5 ~ “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.”

The above scripture is one that I work on daily. How many of *y’all are too quick to point out your brothers’ or sister’s faults, but never seem to point the finger at yourselves? You should always look at yourself before you point out someone else’s faults. Looking at ourselves, and realizing we fall short keeps us humble and closer to God. When I am mentoring or talking to someone about something that they are going through, I make sure to use myself as an example to show them my shortcomings also. Trust me, when I say that you can win more people to Jesus when you apply this mentality. No matter what you are going through, always make sure to look in the mirror at ‘you’ to see if you are the one walking in line with the Word especially before you try to correct someone else. I know this is easier said that than done, but you will help win more people to God’s Kingdom if you do this, and it will make your spiritual walk stronger which is something we should all be striving for.

The Jackpot!

Luke 16:13 ~ "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.~"

Mat 6:19-21 ~ "Do not save riches for yourselves here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and robbers break in and steal. Instead, save riches for yourselves in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and robbers cannot break in and steal. For your heart will always be where your riches are."

I am rich *y’all! I am not talking about financial or manmade riches. I am rich because I know Jesus, and all of my daily needs are met. I have my health, I am in my right mind, my children are healthy, happy, and the generational curses have been removed from them. I am rich because I know how to love and be loved by others. See the world would like you to believe that you are rich only if you have lots of money and things, but the reality is money can’t buy true peace, happiness, or love. Please don’t misunderstand, I am not saying that we can’t have nice things while here on this earth, only we should be very careful not to let the manmade things define or consume us because we can’t take them with us when we leave, but the riches that I own (love, peace, and happiness) are going with me when I do leave. The bottomeline is we should try to take care of and cherish the true riches we own now.

Don't Compare

1 Cor 15:10 ~"But by the grace of God I am what I am"~

Psalm 139:14 ~"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."~

Proverbs 14:30 ~ "A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones."~

How many of *y’all know that we should never compare ourselves to others. When we compare ourselves to others it can lead to envy, which opens the door to many other sins. For example, many people in the Bible hurt others because they compared themselves and became envious of others, (exhibit A ‘Cain and Abel’). Be happy with what you have accomplished instead of comparing yourself to someone else, if you must compare, compare where you used to be and where you are now. Think about how Jesus delivered you from that fast track to hell. Be thankful for your blessings and watch how much more he will bestow on you for being content with what he has already done for you. It’s okay to use someone’s success to motivate you to reach a goal, but stop measuring yourself by worldly standards, because *’y’all know satan is the master of ‘the world’ and his primary mission is to make you feel inadequate in his world. Ever since I became saved I have joy and peace in my life that I never experienced before. I am content with what God has given me and I don’t sit around thinking about what I don’t have. Bottom-line is when you have Jesus in your life you won’t sit around comparing yourself to others because you are fearfully and wonderfully made” in his eyes.

"You Plant 'Em…., "

Matthew 13:3-8~"Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."~

Matthew 10:14-15 ~"If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town. I tell you the truth, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. ~"

How many of *y’all are frustrated with ministering to some people who just refuse to accept Jesus? I mean you literally want to pull out your hair and rock a bald head if the people would just accept God’s love. One thing that was revealed to me was that everyone is not going to be receptive to the Word. In fact some people may even resent you for having the nerve to “preach” to them. But you know what? you can’t get offended because some people have been hurt and beat down by the traumatics of life that they are not ready to listen to the Word yet. This does not mean that you should stay around and keep getting beat up by them, in fact Matthew 10:14-15 says to move on to someone who will be receptive to the message. You also need to realize that it takes some people time, just think about it- How long did it take you to receive God’s love? I’m sure it wasn’t an overnight success story, (there are probably a few people rocking bald heads because of you). Although sad, but unfortunately true some people will never accept the message, but the main thing that you can be assured of is that God’s Word does not return void. Everyone has a choice whether or not to accept or reject Jesus, by giving a non-believer the message, it is like planting a seed, and even though the ground may be hard, dry, and rocky in many places you should just keep on moving and cover as much ground as you can, plant as many seeds as you can, and you will eventually reap a harvest. Some harvests may be small or even void, and some may be plentiful, but whatever the outcome you should never give up and stop planting the seeds of God’s love.

Love Them Anyway

~Luke 6:32-36 ~ 32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. 33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. 34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. 35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Hello *y’all, thank you for continuing to read this blog. It is truly a way for me to use one of the gifts that God has given me to help get his message out to the world. I had to really meditate on the scripture (Luke 6:32-36) above because it is a difficult one to swallow. We all know that we should love at all times, but it is hard to love someone who doesn’t love you back. It is probably one of the most difficult tasks on this earth. Recently, I came under attack by someone I showed unconditional love to, this person, lied, cheated, and said some ugly things about me and my family when all I did was show love. Of course this hurt my feelings and a part of me wanted to lash out at this person, but I refrained and listened to Jesus. He told me to look at the scripture above. Isn't it a powerful scripture? This is one that I am striving to do well, because it is too easy to write someone off who hurts you or keeps hurting you. I’m not saying that you should have daily dealings with people who constantly hurt you, because I know it's hard to feed someone with a long handled spoon when they have bitten both your arms off. All I am saying is love them anyway and pray for them because they are living in darkness and can’t see themselves. Don’t hold anger or hatred towards them because this stifles your relationship with God. Please don’t block your blessings. Continue to love your neighbors and ask the Lord how you can be a blessing to someone daily. Don't give up your love walk. Remember to focus on building your treasures in heaven and not down here in this temporary world.

You Are What You Eat!

Deuteronomy 8:33~ "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD."~

Galatians 5:22-23 ~ "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."~

How many of *y’all have heard the saying “You are what you eat?” Of course we all need to eat physical food to live, but what about feeding your spirit man? Do you watch what you eat? Do you scoff down hatred, anger, and malice for breakfast? Do you gorge yourself on unforgiveness, deceit, and gossip for lunch? Do you devour pride, arrogance, and selfishness for dinner? Do you snack on lies? If you can say yes to any of these then you have been feeding your spirit with rotten fruit. If you eat rotten fruit then you will produce rotten fruit, but if you nourish your spirit with the proper nutrients (The Word) it will grow, and you will produce good fruit for others to eat. We all need to include good fruit in our daily diets, because being a once a week good fruit eater, will still deprive your spirit. You have to be consistent to stay healthy, so make sure you eat quality foods at all times so that you will be healthy enough to stand up to the enemy’s attacks, because he likes to attack weak malnourished spirits the most. So to have a mega-strong spirit make sure you eat love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. For some it make take time to eat all of these in one sitting, but as with anything you have to build your tolerance level up so that you don’t overwhelm and burn out your spirit. After awhile of eating these fruits it will be like second nature to you, and you will be strong enough to feed others.
