Matthew 5:14-16 ~ "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."~
As we get ready to wrap up another year and bring in the new one I wanted to reflect on some of the events that happened in my life this year. Some things made me stronger, others made me more humble, and still others made me even more determined to help others see the light of God’s Kingdom. I learned how to truly walk the road of forgiveness instead of just talk it. I learned how to hold on to some things and to let others go because they were stifling my spiritual growth. I learned to let go of some hidden insecurities which caused me pain and frustration by giving them to God. I experienced several faith building experiences that had me and others shouting for unrelentless joy! I witnessed some people become new creatures because they accepted Jesus into their lives. I also learned to never write off anyone because you never know who God will use to fulfill his plans. (Remember God used many people in the Bible that had issues). I learned to have more patience with people, and finally I learned that true unconditional love can change even the hardest hearts. I am thankful that I learned so much this year and thankful that God used me to bless others. As 2009 rapidly approaches, I hope that the Lord continues to use me to be a light to others, and I pray that more people will accept him into their lives before it’s too late.
